Society considers starting a family a big milestone in life. Often it is treated as an achievement or even a requirement. This interview with Joel Austin looks at family in a unique light. An expert in the field of male parenting, male engagement and parenting education.

Maryam JamalMaryam Jamal (MJ) is a Master of Public Health Student at the University of Pennsylvania. Through her studies she is pursuing a career in policy to advocate for important changes in regulation and legislation. She is passionate about cultural competence and emphasizing empathy in her work. She hopes to continue to learn about intersectionality in reproductive justice and policy so that one day she can work towards bringing systematic change in the government.
